The markup [=cite(key)=], where ''key'' identifies an item in the list of references, produces (for example) cite(Rankin:2006)'s work. There are many markup variants, such as citeP(Rankin:2006), and citeT("see" Rankin:2006), and cite-Y(Rankin:2006).
