- Handling text background colours

- Description
- There is a problem with text background colours, if the text spans more than one line. LATEX does this with graphic boxes rather than true background colours. This is not really satisfactory.

- Proposed solution
- Use soul.sty’s hilighting support. This will cause PDF generation errors with some types of markup, such as URLs, enclosed within the hilighted region. Further investigation is needed to resolve this item. There is no obvious solution; it may be possible to create a markup that offers limited background colour support.
- The best we might do is close and then reopen the <tbook:style> tag around the offending markup. Crude, but it should work.

- Resolution
- The “close then reopen” fix works; even though it’s less than ideal, it gets the job done.
