- Description
- What is the best approach to allowing authors to insert page breaks into the typeset version of long wiki pages? Such breaks would probably only be honoured when typesetting that page and ignored when typesetting a page collection that includes the long page.
- Importance
- 4
- Proposed solution
- There are several possible approaches:
- use the ____ markup and turn this into a tbook section on output
- introduce a ==== markup and turn this into a tbook section on output (otherwise ignore)
- cause breaks before headings of a specified level (this is familiar from word processing)
At first, we will support heading level on new page — this is simple and obvious. In future, we may need more than one option.

- Resolution
- The reader can specify a heading level on which to start a new page, using the options link. The heading goes to the top of the next page. Section breaks in trail and search compositions start the next odd page (duplex) or next page (single-sided).
