- Summary
- Enhance layout of single page output

- Description
- Remove the header on the first page (rule and page number), provide an outside margin for marginal notes, and provide an option for 2 column 10pt output (norm is 11pt). If the page includes a (:toc:) directive, generate a mini table of contents using the headings on the page.

- Proposed solution
- Initially, remove the first page header and widen the outside margin. Two column layout will come later. The mini table of contents would float on the first page, via a <group class=‘toc’> tag (presentation still to be specified).

- Resolution
- Header on first page and an outside margin are both implemented. Mini table of contents is implemented, including page number references. Investigate a 2 column option once the beta is stable, as part of other layout investigations such as paper size. The (:toc:) directive is omitted when publishing page collections.
- Added a separate issue for two column layout (00056).
