- Description
- For some uses, a 2-column output of a single page is appropriate. The title and optional legal notice go across both columns and the final page balances the columns to approximately equal length. The colophon also goes across both columns

- Proposed solution
- Examine this option after the service is out of beta testing. This may be done in conjunction with visually-impaired reader support (00053). Combine a small text size with a 2 column layout. If the author specifies 2 column optput, the reader may not override this from the options screen.

- Resolution
- An author can add a (:2column:) directive to a page to request 2 column pdf output. This only works on some kinds of page. For example, pages with long or advanced tables do not work. It’s up to the author to test that 2 column output is appropriate for the page in question. The typesetter currently does not balance columns on the last page.
