- Summary
- Meta-data to allow changes to float and table placement

- Description
- I would like to change the default placement allowances given to LATEX. This could be set in the meta-data for the wiki publisher. The choices should be the standard LATEX ones such as Here, Top, Bottom, Page etc.
Having different choices for tables and figures might be good too.

- Proposed solution
- A new print metadata element, floathere, with a default setting of “off”, adds a h[ere] placement option if set to “on”. The default setting is t[op] b[ottom] p[age]. Use of the flafter package prevents figures and tables from appearing at the top of the current page. Supplementary tuning of selected LATEX float variables should reduce the incidence of floats on otherwise empty pages.
This feature is enabled on the current site. To see the effect, try typesetting the Tip of the Week collection.
